Multiple selection of components to drag between feature

Fri Aug 02, 2019 2:38 pm

Multiple selection of components to drag between features.
It is very inconvenient when you need to place many components by features. One at a time to do long and uncomfortable.
Very necessary.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

In order to achieve that, please have a look on our "How to select multiple components in the Organization view" which I think you may find useful.

Hope this helps.

Yes, this should ease the situation.
But still there are extra actions.
It would be much easier to select with a shift or ctrl and drag with the mouse.

Hello,

Indeed, you are right, this may not be the best solution, but I find it decent compared to moving the components one by one.

By default, the "Organization" view uses a native tree control that does not support multiple selection. We already have this on our TODO list, but making it support the multiple selection would represent a major effort from our developers and we considered it was not worth the effort since not many users have been asking for it (it has a low priority).

If this will be implemented in the future, I will update this thread to let you know.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

After version 16.0.0.0 there is no such function.
Or something broke in the program and it does not work.
Menu items are missing and some are not active.
How to use it in the current version 16.6.1 ???

I am not quite sure I understand what you mean here. Could you please give me some more details about what is not working for you (maybe if you could provide a screenshot, that would be really helpful)?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

You can simply try to do what is described in the instructions.
How to select multiple components in the Organization view
And you will see that there is no such feature now.

And if such a feature does exist, and I just could not find something, please tell me how to do it.

Dont show items for move selected search result to already existed feature.
Now the menu looks like this:

Hello,

Thank you for your followup on this and for the explanation.

I have tested this and I can indeed confirm the behavior is wrong. This is an issue in what regards Advanced Installer.

I have already forwarded this to our developer team and hopefully this will be fixed in a future version of Advanced Installer.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
Catalin
