Unable to repackage using docker

Mon Aug 08, 2022 6:06 pm

I am attempting to run a repackage operation using a docker container (windows 10 20h2 image) with AI 19.7.

I am able to generate the -rpk image, but it appears that there are errors logged during the creation process (attached output as docker.txt).

When I start the repackaging operation using the created -rpk image and select a .rpp save location, I receive "The selected virtual machine was not found on the virtualization server" immediately. I looked at the webinar on this feature as well as publicly available documentation and was not able to find a resolution.

Hello,

I've tested your scenario, but I cannot reproduce the behavior.

Can you please send us the Docker version and the Windows version of your machine?

Please try the following solutions:

1. Remove the docker image, clean your cache and start over.

2. Create a docker image from the "External Images" tab of the Docker Wizard. But please make sure that you do not have this image locally.

3. And make sure the below option is checked:

Please let me know if that helped.

Best regards,

Hi, unfortunately the steps you identified did not resolve my problem.

I removed all images and containers from docker desktop and cleaned up unused files, then downloaded the 20h2 image using Advanced Repackager. Same result as before.

I am running Docker Desktop 4.10.1. Windows version is 10 21H2. Docker settings are attached.

Are there log files I could provide or generate that would help diagnose the issue?

Hi,

I have tested this with Docker 4.10.1 and I can indeed confirm the behavior.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a problem with Docker. I say this because everything works as expected with older or newer versions. Only Docker 4.10.1 seems to have this problem.

Therefore, can you please update your Docker application to the latest version (4.11.1)? Is there any reason not to update it?

Please let me know if that helped.

Best regards,
Liviu

Hi there, I have updated Docker Desktop to version 4.11.1 and AI to version 19.7.1.

This issue persists. I also tried downloading a different win10 image (2004), and I encounter the same error at the same point in the repackaging process.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce this using the latest version of Docker.

Please give me some more time to discuss this with our development team and as soon as I will have a conclusive answer, I will update this thread.

Best regards,
Liviu

Hello,

Thank you for the patience you have shown us during the investigation.

Can you please verify if the following path exists on your machine?

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Caphyon\Advanced Installer\Repackager

If the "Repackager" folder does not exist, can you please manually create it?

Please let me know if that helped.
