How to hide a property that is passed through command line from the log file

Hello,

Today we'll be covering a scenario from one of our customers that asked how to hide, from the log file, a property that is passed through the command line.

To easily achieve that, we have to first define the property in the project and leave it empty. On top of that, we will add the "Secure property" option to that. To do so, go to "Properties" page and add a new property:

After doing so, at installe time, instead of the property being created from scratch, it is just assigned a new value and has the "secure" property assigned to it already. This will ensure that the property stays hidden in the log file.

This would, of course, be useful for passwords and other sensitive information that you want to hide from the log file.

Hope this helps! :)
