Adding Files & Folders to an existing instalation

Greetings--
Using Professional 8.1 build 34480.

We want to send users, who already have installed our software, one file and one folder to add to their existing installed Application folder. We don't want to add a new app. What is the best way to add the following?

-- one file that will overwrite an existing file in Program folder inside the Application folder: Application\Program
-- a new Temp folder to be placed in Program folder inside the Application folder: Application\Program

I don't know why you can't put the file where ever you want. I usually build so that installs can be made on top of the prior version, but either way I don't think it matters.

The recommended approach are patches. Our user guide contains a patch tutorial which may help you.
