Set default browser

Hi!

Is it possible to set default browser with Advanced Installer on Windows 8.1/10?

I have tried to set the default browser with registry settings, but it does not work due to incorrect hash value..

Thanks!

Re: Set default browser

Hello,

You can use Advanced Installer to create an installer that will edit some registries on the target machine. For details, please take a look on the Add registry keys and values to your package article.

But please note that the error you are receiving is due to the fact that these values have a security measure implemented in the form of that hash. Default Browser Settings are protected by a hash value to indicate that it is a preference that the user set themselves through the UI. This is why I do not recommend doing this for your users as it should be their choice what Default Browser to use.

Please have a look at the following article for more information regarding this Default Browser.

Best regards,
