Using auto updater with multiple instances

Hello

I'm trying to set up the auto updater functionality with our setup.
Our Setup allows the installation of multiple instances at install time (the user can choose a name for the instances).
The setup saves the product version in the registry (HKLM\Software\CompanyName\[ProductName]\Version).

Example.
Instance1 -> HKLM\Software\CompanyName\Instance1\Version
Instance2 -> HKLM\Software\CompanyName\Instance2\Version

I want the updater to search in the registry for the version (Installed Detection "registry value search").
How do I have to specify the registry value in the properties page of my updates configuration file project to achieve this?
I tried "HKLM\Software\CompanyName\[ProductName]\Version" but no luck. [ApplicationName], [APPNAME], [InstanceId] also didn't work.
I can see the correct "ApplicationName" in the updaters INI file, but how can I tell the updater to use it in the registry search?

I'm afraid we don't have support for what you need. Maybe we will consider such improvements in a future version of Advanced Installer.

So, in conclusion, I can't use the auto updater with a setup that allows multiple instances at all?
Or is it possible to use a custom exe for the version check and pass the instance name to it?

It would be great if that feature will be added some day. A nice addition to a already great product.
Should not be that difficult because the updater already knows the instance name from the ini file.

No, you cannot use the Updater tool to handle updates for multiple instances of a product.

Yes, I think this is possible. You can try to implement your own logic into a custom EXE.
