The Best Robot Vacuum Cleaners: Objective Assessment of Qualities and Abilities

Tue Dec 31, 2019 9:23 am

In this 4.0 era, machines are created to help humankind in almost everything. The robot vacuum cleaner is not an exception.

A robot vacuum cleaner can help you get rid of dirt from difficult surfaces under beds, sofas, or large closets. These objects are heavy, and often hard to move. Compare robot vacuums to regular cleaning methods, and you can see that surfaces that are vacuumed are much easier to clean and a lot cleaner.

What is more, most robot vacuum cleaners are compact, manageable, and convenient to help you clean every corner of the house. This device is also a friend. It can help you with housework and entertain you as well. These machines are little and as cute as a small cat or dog.

Top 5 Best Robot Vacuum Cleaners

iRobot® Roomba® i7+ (7550)

Based on my research on the best robot vacuum, this model has always had a steady sale on the market and inclined towards being the best-rated robot vacuum.

The disposable AllergenLock™ bag holds dirt for 60 days, and this tool will come in handy when you don’t replace the bin for months. Plus, by connecting via WiFi and remote control with your smartphone, you can make the machine work from anywhere.

This product is ideal for users with pets. With the duo of the High-Efficiency Filter, the AllergenLock™ bags and the unique Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes, pet hair, pollen, mold, and dust mites will be 99% trapped without getting back into the air or becoming a mess in the bin.

However, this product is now being sold at $999. To some people, this might be a little high, but if you’re willing to pay this kind of money, the Roomba® i7+ (7550) will be a worthwhile investment for your home.

  • Only need to vacuum every once in a while
  • Pet-friendly
  • Consists of high technology parts
  • High price
  • Gets stuck sometimes
  • Requires charging often
Irova ExVac Ultrasonic

This model fully conveys the good basic factors of the best robot vacuum. It has a compact design with a square shape, which is perfect for going deep into wall corners. The Exvac Ultrasonic comes in white color, so suitable if you’re looking for something elegant.

This model of Irova contains distinctive features a vacuum robot should have, such as avoiding stairs and riding up on rugs, knowing the way back to the charging station or sweeping hard floors, etc. It is not an exaggeration to say that the Exvac Ultrasonic is one of the most popular choices among families.

This machine has twin side brushes for edge and corners sweeping. There are five cleaning modes for each type of condition: auto, along-the-wall, spiral, zig-zag, and schedule. It doesn’t matter what type of floor you have, because these modes will do cleaning at ease.

However, with a low price of $190, you will have to take some risks in perfomance from this model. The equipment is basically a plastic outer shell that lacks ruggedness. The quality also goes hand in hand with the price, which means this machine will need regular maintenance.

In short, if your budget is limited, you can opt for the ExVac Ultrasonic from Irova to be your partner in indoor cleaning.

  • Reasonable price
  • Square-shaped for corners
  • Variable working modes
  • Low-cost design
  • Needs warranty
  • Goes slow sometimes

Samsung Powerbot R7070

I want to introduce you to the Powerbot from Samsung, model R7070 - one of the bestselling vacuum machines on online shopping websites.

First of all, the battery life will surprise you with a 90-minute period continuous working rating, which can run around five rooms and park itself when being exhausted. What is more, multiple cleaning modes and automatic cleaning schedules will be set up for the full duration. With a metal design and a glossy, black circular shape, this model ushers in a modern and professional feeling.

Nevertheless, there are a few drawbacks you should know before purchasing it. The ‘single room cleaning’ mode is a waste of battery life. Instead of that, you can choose ‘automatic’ for saving the accumulator’s charge.

Costing about $350, I assume this model is the best vacuum robot you can expect for such a price.

  • Good price
  • Modern and elegant design
  • Quiet operation
  • Hard to select a suitable mode
  • Waste of battery life if the mode is wrongly selected
  • Might fall down in the dark

Another outstanding product I would like to introduce today is ILIFE V3s Pro. At a surprisingly reasonable price of $128, you can have yourself one model listed in some of the best robotic vacuum cleaner reviews.

This machine focuses mostly on its expertise, which is picking up pet hair, dirt, debris on hard floors with its tangle-free pet hair equipment. It also can charge itself in within 90 to 100 minutes for a full period, and it has anti-bump and anti-fall modes as well.

Nonetheless, because of its design, this machine can get stuck on dog beds and entryway rugs, or even curtains. It cannot climb up on its own, so falling is inevitable.

However, we shouldn’t ask too much from a machine at such a reasonable price.

  • Reasonable price
  • Good design
  • long battery life
  • Gets stuck easily
  • Falls down often
Last but not least, it is Deebot N79S from ECOVACS. This is a special model with Alexa or Google Assistant voice command, which means you can use your smartphone to control it from anywhere. What a high-tech invention!

Besides that, this vacuum cleaner has some common features like any other one. It has a three-stage cleaning system to tackle any mess, and it can increase the maximum mode to up to x2 for tough mess and it’s pet-friendly. This could be the perfect robot vacuum for $295.

Nevertheless, there are risky situations that you should be aware of. After a long period of usage, this appliance can start losing its charge about 30 minutes into cleaning.

This product is not suggested for anyone who has surfaces of different heights in their rooms. It can end up getting stuck on the transition from the carpet back to the wood floor or vice versa, sometimes.

  • Voice command
  • 3-stage system
  • Medium price
  • Reduced productivity after using for a while
  • Cannot climb
  • No warranty

Re: Installed program with push button

Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:42 am

Hello Hercules and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,

Yes, by following that tutorial, the program will indeed be executed when you press the "Finish" button. However, if you want to execute your program at an earlier stage (for instance, in an earlier dialog), the approach is very similar.

Considering you already have the custom action defined (e.g. a "Launch file" custom action), here is what you need to do:

- go to "Dialogs" page

- select your dialog

- click on your button (if you do not have a button, you can simply add it by using the "Control Toolbox" from the ribbon. For instance, you can add a Push Button control.)

- under "Published Events" tab, press "New..."

- add an event as it follows:

Event: Execute custom action
Argument: LaunchFile
Condition: leave default

This way, your program will be executed when the button is pushed.

Hope this helps.
