Re: download and install error

Hi,

Can you please send us the updater.ini file next to the updater.exe application to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it?

Best,
Mihai

Hi Mihai,

A very belated reply. I have now sent the file (hotfixupdater.ini) to support at advancedinstaller dot com

Thanks

Re: download and install error

Hallo,

I've got the same problem. I haven't been able to install any provided update.
My OS: Windows XP 32 bit.

Is it possible to post a few lines how to solve this problem or at least a statement where the problem is and what's happening next in this case?

Thanks.

Re: download and install error

Hi,

The INI file received from the first user that encountered this problem contained a download path with a little mistake in it, more specifically with two backslashes:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files(x86)\[Manufacturer]\[ProductName]\\updates".
Also, the user said it uses this path on multiple XP machines and it works correctly so we then suspected it could be a permissions problem, since the updater was trying to write in location where you need to be elevated for Win 2008. Unfortunately we did not received an answer from the user in regards to our last solution, so we don't know for sure.

Since you have XP I believe we can exclude the permissions problem, but the path could still be incorrect, can you please try changing it? If this does not work can you please send us the INI file so we can take a look.

Regards,
Bogdan

Re: download and install error

Hello,

I'm not sure why this happens. Do you replicate the behavior on multiple machines?

Also, can you please send us the .AIPs (project files) of your older version, upgraded version and of your updates configuration project to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate them?

All the best,
Daniel
