Re: Removing the shortcut folder

Ok... that was the impression I was under. How, then, do we prevent an empty start->programs->myGame from being created when no shortcuts are installed?

Custom action installs

We are shipping the .net 2.0 redistributable with our installation package. We are attempting to install it as a custom action, after our product instillation completes. However, we are getting an error saying that "There is already an installation in progress" and .net 2.0 does not instal...

Autoplay on second disk

I can't find any options to configuring autoplay on multiple disks.
Here's what we would like to accomplish. For cd1: Install or launch. For cd2: Launch or request cd1.

Is this going to be possible?

Re: Removing the shortcut folder

We would like the shortcut folder to be created on the user's machine if they choose to create shortcuts. However, we would not like an empty folder to be sitting on their disk if they choose to have no shortcuts installed. Will doing what you described above prevent the folder to be created, EVEN i...

Removing the shortcut folder

I can't seem to figure out how to remove the shortcut folder from start menu, given the scenario where the user chooses not to have any shortcuts installed via the shortcuts dialog. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paths and Source Control

Let's say, that your development environment paths do not match your build environment paths, and let's say that your advanced installer project is under source control. Now let's say that inside your advanced installer project, you are building path variables to point at the bin wherein your execut...

Licence for automated build

Quick question: I'm a developer working on integrating Advanced Installer into our build process. Our build machine is not my development machine. Of course, when I copied over AdvancedInstaller.com to our build box, there was a complaint about licensing. Having bought an enterprise license, does th...

Re: Multiple Volumes non cabbed?

For those rare CRC problems. The company I work with prefers to be able to have their customers simply copy missing files off the when there are install problems.

Help! Multiple Volume support

I have an enterprise project set up, and I'm trying to test the multiple volume support provided through Advanced Installer. 1) I have my first and next volumes both configured to 100 megs. My project split up into 2 different cab files, and a single MSI on build. The folders are labeled Disk1 and D...
