Sadly, this is another Windows Installer limitation - its Stretch algorithm for banners is simply not very smart. And, yes, the stretch is necessary for when the dialog grows or shrinks with the font size. I recommend reauthoring the banners to support slight "corruption" without too much ...

No. It is one of the Windows Installer fundamental rules: you can have a given MSI package installed only once. Very useful, saves you a lot of headache with overwritten files, registry keys installed twice, etc. You could, however, package the same program in a second MSI and install it again. Or h...

Go to the Dialogs page and select the "Installation Complete" dialog.

In the lower part of the screen you'll have the possibility to specify a Readme file, an application launch or both.

That is Windows Installer functionality, not Advanced Installer. If Microsoft adds the feature, we'll surely support it. :)

Hello,

I am afraid that is not an Advanced Installer issue, more likely a Windows Installer problem on your machine.

Your support personnel in that case would be Microsoft.

I am afraid that is a mistake in our documentation. The Name field is NOT of Formatted type, and thus you can't have Properties substitution there. You need to include the name of the product directly.

I will notify our technical writing department.

Hi Francesco,

We cannot give a sure-exact date because the chance to miss it is just too great.

But we are working exclusively on i18n support right now and we expect it to be ready in a couple of months.

Best regards,

Hi Stewart,

But the installer is only called at install time, not later. So how can it expire the product? Maybe this is a good idea for AdvInst for Java though.

The answer to your second question is here:

This sounds like a broken Windows Installer installation. What is the connection with Advanced Installer?

Sorrry, but we are only able to respond to Advanced Installer - related issues. You need to ask the support for your respective product.

Currently the only way to do this is by upgrading the whole product.

The next version, 2.6 due for release later this month, will provide support for Patches, which will allow minor updates of installed products.

Hi Vince, The problem with your package is that you are not using the Application Folder and the Application Shortcut Folder to place your files and shortcuts. Instead you put everything directly into their intended location (Pogram Files or Start Menu). Those files will be installed right there - w...
