Hi, There is no way to force a MSI to install in the exact location of the previous version. Windows Installer does not support it and neither does AI. However there is no need for that as the user might want to change the install location when he/she upgrades. In this case the application will be u...

Hi,

Advanced Installer searches for the jvm.dll file in the jre\bin\server or jre\bin\client folders. The presence of this file is the criteria used to decide whether a JRE is valid.

Hi,

Yes there is a way to change the location where the prerequisites are installed.

Starting with the 3.4 version the user has the ability to specify this location. He/she can use the "Browse" button in the second dialog of the Prerequisites wizard.

Hi, We are unable to reproduce this bug with the 3.4.1 version. I would suggest a Debug version of your application that will display the current directory. This can be easily obtained using the ::GetCurrentDirectory function. This way you you can verify if the current directory is the one expected....

Hi,

The fix should work. Maybe there is a OS version problem? What OS version are you testing your packages on?

Thank you for your suggestion, we will add it to the list.

Best,
Mihai

Hi, Thank for the observation, we changed that section in the tutorial to make it more clear. You have probably made a mistake a some point in one of the tutorial steps. The result should have been the correct one. The solution you have used is correct too, although a bit more complicated. Regards, ...

Hi,

It seems to be an extra ">" in your arg line:

<arg line="/edit "${installerFile}" /version "1.2.3" *** > ***"/>

If this doesn't solve it please tell me the value of the {installerPath} and {installerFile} properties.

Hi, You should follow the same steps as described in the tutorial. The difference is that you should check the "Registry -> Registry key and values" option in the "Localization Options" dialog tree, instead of the "Features" one. AFTER you have added the registry key, u...

Hi,

I'm afraid that currently there is no way to suppress those error messages, if they occur. We have this issue on our ToDo list, scheduled to be fixed in a future version of Advanced Installer.
