AI Not backing up file

Hello,
Running v5.0 AI. My app replaces the orignal HOST File. After updating or building a new project, there is no back up HOST file. Where can I check this to see why?

Thanks,
Marv

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you please give me more details about this?

Which application does this? Advanced Installer or your application?

The original HOST file resides on your computer. A user installs my program. At one time, one version of AI made a HOST.bak file in the same folder. Now I'm running version 5 and there is no longer a HOST.bak.

If the useruninstalles my program will the back up be put back to normal state?

Thanks,

Marv

Hi,

Which application performs the overwrite: Advanced Installer during the installation of your package or your application after it is installed?

If you are using Advanced Installer to overwrite this file, then you can use our How-To to back-up and restore it:
http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-g ... le-ca.html

However, if the file is overwritten by your application (after it has been installed), then you need to manage the backup and restore of the file from inside your application.
