Show program version in control panel add/remove programs

I'd like the name of the program that appears in the control panel's "add/remove programs" to include my program's version (Example: "MyExeProgram 1.2.0". In all other locations, such as the registry, and the installation folder under c:\program files\, I would like things to be the normal program name ("MyExeProgram"). I believe this might be possible by adding the version to the "Product Name" field in the Product Details form (example: [ProductName][|ProductVersion]) and then customizing the aip by replacing all instances of [ProductName] with "MyExeProgram" but I think we'd all agree this is not a good approach. Any help is much appreciated.
