Firefox Add-ons

Hi,
I built an Firefox 3.x06 msi-file with the Advanced Installer Repackager to distribute with Windows GPO and this works well.
Now I want to add Firefox Add-ons like flashblock-1.5.7.xpi to the allready distributed Firefox.
How can I do this?

Regards

Re: Firefox Add-ons

Hi,

I'm not sure if this can be done through a MSI package. From my knowledge Firefox extensions are installed from withing the browser.

Re: Firefox Add-ons

You can distribute extensions at the system level by:

1. Installing an extension via Firefox via your profile (I'd recommend creating a new, clean profile to start with)

2. Adding the new extension directory (in your Firefox profile, this will be in the "extensions" sub-directory, and will have a random looking name in brackets) into the <installation path>\extensions folder inside the MSI you want to create.

So, on a default 32-bit Windows 7 install, you'd copy the unpacked extensions folder into C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions

That will force all users to pick up the extension.
