Settings

Internal settings

To configure the EXE bootstrapper internal options use the Configuration Settings Tab.

NoteThe bootstrapper UI options are disabled when a bootstrapper was not included in your package.

UI level

Select the prerequisites wizard UI level. The available options are:

  • Silent Install (no UI) - this option will make the bootstrapper hide the prerequisites wizard and any prerequisite progress.
  • Basic UI and progress - this option will show a prerequisite installation progress bar. It will also allow the bootstrapper to display status and error dialogs if necessary.
  • Full UI - this option will show all the dialogs used by the prerequisites wizard.

Optional Dialogs

Display Information dialog

When this option is checked the prerequisites wizard will display a welcome dialog with information about prerequisites.

If you want to use your own welcome text instead of our default, you can check the Override information text with .rtf file option. It will allow you to select a RTF file with your text.

Display License Agreement dialog

This option allows you to display an EULA page in the prerequisite wizard. Select the RTF license agreement file in the “EULA Path (.rtf)” field.

NoteInformation and License Agreement dialogs are shown only when at least one global prerequisite was added to your package.

Images

By default the bootstrapper prerequisites wizard uses the MSI dialog images. However, you can override those images with custom ones designed just for the bootstrapper.

Override dialog image

This option enables you to specify a custom image that will be displayed as the background of the Information dialog in the prerequisite wizard.

Override banner image

This option enables you to specify a custom image that will be displayed as banner on the prerequisite wizard dialogs.

Caution! The bootstrapper dialogs are slightly larger than the installation dialogs. Therefore you should make sure that the banner and dialog images you use have been resized for them.

The default sizes of the images used by Advanced Installer are:

Resource nameSize in pixels
Banner image533 x 64
Dialog image533 x 350
