Re: Virus Detected with AI Exe

seems okay this morning so far.

Did try uploading it again to the website for testing - and definitely just uploaded the one exe from the stubs directory, but it still reports too many files - very strange, so we can't submit it as you keep asking.

Re: Virus Detected with AI Exe

I just submitted the one file - updater.exe (as can be seen in the screenshot) - I just assumed it is looking inside it and finding other files or similar? perhaps try submitting it yourself? was definitely signed with a digital signature and was definitely detected multiple times by defender - neve...

Re: Advanced Installer Updater no longer working due to recent OV code signing certificate changes – complete nightmare!

So after spending two days going backwards and forwards with this and getting nowhere, as above I noticed that the instructions were missing a key step which meant the updater.exe you were signing with the new certificate was never getting copied over the original one signed with the old certificate...

Advanced Installer Updater no longer working due to recent OV code signing certificate changes – complete nightmare!

For years as a sole-trader I have had an OV code signing certificate showing my business name, due to the recent changes in validation for issuing of OV certificates you are no longer allowed to have business name on a certificate unless you are a registered business and “the business has to be regi...

Re: Virus Detected with AI Exe

Hello Frank, I can assure you this is because your setup is not digitally signed (I've had many users in the same scenario and the detection went off after the setup was signed). And I also can assure you that this is a false-positive detection . If you'd like, you can submit it for whitelisting to...

Re: Hosting of files relating to a software business e.g. installers (.msi, .exe) etc

I had also considered using GitHub as I see you have full integration for that. But I assume with GitHub I could just store the files (updates.txt and update.msi) on GitHub and use the direct (raw) link it provides in my updates.txt in same way I do for my current webhost. One question I do have rel...

Re: Hosting of files relating to a software business e.g. installers (.msi, .exe) etc

H Liviu Thanks for your reply. I have asked host to whitelist - which they have done in past, but this time they are now saying I am not allowed to host files such as MSI or EXE on my website as it breaks the terms they impose. Hence asking for suggestions. It maybe that I just need to change to a d...

Hosting of files relating to a software business e.g. installers (.msi, .exe) etc

I develop software and on my website have several downloads for my installers / updates etc - mostly MSI or EXE, some ZIP. My hosting company has now (after one of the MSI files got wrongly flagged by clamAV as malicious) told me I can't host files like this with my website. Have done it for years s...

Re: Problem getting updater to work using install support service

Update - this problem is now solved - putting details from my email to support below so thread is complete Turns out that the company whose computers I was installing on use a product to control website access for normal users (WebSense) – this blocks the download of EXE files for standard users an...
