I have done that but the prepareDialog just flashes up for a couple of seconds and disappears.

I followed this, but I did it on the wrong installer project. Can I reverse it as not sure how to.

Don't worry I have this working now, I set SQL Server prerequisite up as a Feature and if the user does not select it I trigger a a browse SQL dialog for them to choose one on the network.

Hi Catalin I did look at the prerequisites. However not sure it works for this. 1. Prerequisites mean it has to be installed on the machine the software is to be installed, there may be a SQL Server on the network that wish to use rather than a local SQL Server instance. 2. SQL Server Browse or Install

Is it possible to use the SQL Server browse functionality and if the user does not select an existing SQL Server or no SQL Server found install SQL Server. Can you please tell me how this is done?
