Rename Updater (EXE) after download

Hi, this might be possible but I cannot find it in the documentation: I have a problem using auto update because my web hoster seems to put some restrictions on EXE files. The problem manifests in that when I enter the (correct) update URL (e. g. http://.....//myupdate.exe) into the browser I get &q...

Re: Multi-Language Prerequisites

Hi Cosmin, I thought that I had found a work around for this. I added parameters and added translations for those properties to a dictionary. Example entry: <ENTRY id="Property.SCMPreReqLanguage"> <STRING lang="de" value="DE"/> <STRING lang="en" value="EN...

Re: Multi-Language Prerequisites

Cosmin,

do you think, that the following will work:

- download the prerequisites from a URL
- put the "installation language" variable in the URL string
- make the prerequisites available in different subfolders, e.g.

...../EN/dotnetfx.exe
...../DE/dotnetfx.exe

Thanks

Multi-Language Prerequisites

Hi,

What is the recommended way to build a (multi-language) Setup that

- starts with language selection
- eventually downloads and installs language dependant prerequisites (e.g. NetFx, SQL Server, ...)

Thanks

Gigi, Thanks for your answer. It works when I put the custom action into "InstallInitialize" (the search value doesn't seem to be accessible in "Install"). I also have a problem to detect the file version of msjet40.dll. Explorer tells me it is 4.0.8015.0 (or 4.00.8015.0 in W98SE...
