Temporary Bat File Not Running As Custom Action

Guys, It looks like my file is not being found, i.e. no file name in command: MSI (s) (00:24) [17:39:04:081]: Executing op: ActionStart(Name=Register_COM_Servers.1774B61E_82C4_4E8C_8FBA_A705BBC46365,,) Action 17:39:04: Register_COM_Servers.1774B61E_82C4_4E8C_8FBA_A705BBC46365. How to control DLL registration order?

How does one guarantee registration order when a product has DLLs based on other COM DLLs?

Re: COM Server Registration Failures On Windows 7

The DLL these depend on appears to be registered after the product is installed. That's registered via selfreg.

Almost seems like the deferred CAs aren't picking up the registration.

COM Server Registration Failures On Windows 7

We are still on AI 14.4.2 and haven't modified our installers for a while. I have several Custom Actions to register COM servers: CIFSBClient_Reg.png All of a suddenly in the last month or so these COM server registrations are failing on some Windows 7 machines and a Windows 10 machine, e.g.: MSI (s...

Re: Checkbox Default Value

In this case I have it in both the parent install as well as a child merge module, which might be part of the issue. I always seemed to have a problem, early on, with global properties being accessible in the merge modules. I guess how do I "properly" pass AND use a global property (define...

Checkbox Default Value

Hi guys, We're still on AI 14.4.2. I have a checkbox defined as: SendOnStartProperties.PNG and for that checkbox I have the following Control Event on the Publish Event of the dialog's Next button to set the property to 0 if not selected (determined by checking property's value): SendOnStartControlC...

Daniel, I look further in the log file. The net effect is that our lead engineer had to manually register some components to get our product to work, so that's why we were focused on that message.

Re: Folder had been blocked by the 1 mask argument (the folder pair's iSwapAttrib member = 0).

We're seeing this but not in an upgrade situation. We're seeing it when trying to register any of our components (which have been working for years). MSI (s) (44:C4) [08:59:40:186]: Executing op: ComponentRegister(ComponentId={A3FE3D74-896D-4DB0-9CF5-5FB80078B9AB},KeyPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Cice...

Is there a newer way to accomplish this without using VBScript?

Command Line Syntax To Convert An AI Project?

When we get a new version from Caphyon I like to open all my AI projects and convert them but we have like 13 projects, including merge modules.

I know the command line syntax allows for a Load, Modify, Save BUT I don't want to modify. I'd like to just Load and Save.

Anyway to do this?

Eusebiu,

Good catch! Checking those worked. Guess setting that on all the child registry components wasn't evident in that article to me

Re: Prevent saving regitry entries in 64bit "Wow6432Node" node?

Hi, To achieve this you can follow the steps described in the " How to install different registry entries based on the Operating System (32/64-bit) " tutorial. The only difference is that you do not need to set a condition for the 32-bit registry entries. Best regards, Eusebiu I tried thi...
