Linux RPM Support

I would really like to see the ability to use the XML install description to complile not only msi packages but also Linux RPMs. ODBC connections and Service installs could be left out initially, but there may be appropriate equivalents. E.g. the service install may create a start command at the appropriate boot level.

Hi Ed,

Support for Linux and Mac OS X installations is planned for a future version. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Best regards,

At exorbyte (http://www.exorbyte.com) we have developed a tool that behaves like the windows scm for installing and managing our NT services on linux. This may be useful if you do work on a unix port.

Hello,

Is it possible for me that using advanced installer tool, my developer can create MSI for windows and another dmg file for MAC.
i mean i don't want my developers to go in to two tools for packaging their product for windows and MAC. is there any single tool available which can do packaging for both OS.

Thanks

Hi,

I am afraid that Advanced Installer does not support creating ".dmg" files. The problem is that this file format is not very well documented (if at all).
