Support for Java properties files

Hello.

Thank you for the new 2.4 release. The ability to create ini files and the search functionality seem especially useful.

Now that we have support for ini files, how about adding similar support for java.util.Properties xml-files? I'd like my Java programs to be as portable as possible so using Java properties would be better than using Windows ini files.

But would that be really useful or even make sense? You can add and install property files just like regular files today with no problems.

Do you really want to selectively update rows in property files like in INI files? Why? Starting with 1.4, Java has Preferences, which, on Windows get saved in the Registry, also supported by AI.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Thanks for bringing me to the 21st century. I hadn't heard of Preferences before, but now that I looked into it I think you are right, they are usually the preferable method.
