Supported Operating Systems insufficient for .NET 2.0 target

.NET Framework 2.0 supports Win2KSP3 and WinXPSP2 but not WinXP and WInXPPSP1. (Based on http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en.)

So for targetting .NET 2.0, rejecting WinXP and WinXPSP1 but allowing Win2KSP3 is appropraite but not supported by the Supported Operating Systems alternatives.

The Supported OSs feature is more like of a convenience, this is why it only covers the most common scenario: an Windows Version and higher.

However, you can still refine this condition by editing the Launch Conditions directly.

Thanks.

It is true that there are other ways.

What I'm suggesting is that installations of things that require .NET 2.0 will become common enough to justify being covered by the "convenience" aspect. That is the "new feature" I'm suggesting.

An addition (or alternative?) would be a ".NET version present" test convenience-feature in order to help cover installating for the .NET platform.

Again: just suggestions of new features for the future.

Got it.

Yes, that is a very good featue and yes, we are planning to add it to AdvInst (along with other handy predefined launch conditions).

Thank you for your suggestion,
