Install 1msi file- remove (uninstall) my other application!!

Hello guys,

I have a strange behaviour with 2 msi files generated with Advanced Installer:
The first one "NMDK" v.1.2.0 is installed on my PC and when I try to install the second one - "NMDK - solution 5210" v1.3.0 (this tool is different from the first one, it is not the newer version!), so finally I dont have anymore my first application on my PC!

It's true that I used the aip file from my first application to create my second one, but the name of the application is different and the name of the .msi file too! Have you any explications?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The problem you are encountering is due to the fact that both packages were created starting from the same AIP file. This way both packages share the same UpgradeCode. It doesn't matter if they have different application names.

To resolve this error just open the AIP file of one of the projects, using a text editor, and modify the value of the UpgradeCode.

However the correct way would be to recreate one of the projects from scratch as the the components guids are the same too and could appear problems.

Best regards,
Ciprian
