modified registry key getting deleted on uninstall

I am using Advanced Installer 3.9 Freeware, and I am encountering what I think is a bug. My installation project requires the value of a key in the registry to be modified. So, followed these instructions in the Advanced Installer User Guide:
Go to the Registry page, by selecting it in the left-side panel. Select the Registry hive tree by clicking in it.

Use the [ New Key ] toolbar button to recreate the required registry path.

Use the [ New Value ] toolbar button to create the required registry value.

If the registry keys and the value already exist, the value's data will be modified. If not, the keys and the value will be created.
When I install my application, my registry value gets updated as it should. But when I uninstall my application, the registry value gets deleted alltogether - as it should not.

I have ensured that the properties to my modified registry value do not specify to "Delete (if present) at uninstall. That box is unchecked.

So, I think there's a bug in how the Advanced Installer deals with registry keys during the uninstall process.

Thanks for any help.
