Does advanced installer work for plugins? Help

I downloaded the installer mentioned and tried it out. I don't know
how to evaluate how it compares to other installers without trying a
bunch of alternatives.

In the little time that I spent with it, I was unable to create an
installer that had the correct destination path in it. The program
assumes that I am installing a standalone program instead of a plug-
in. Can anyone tell me if this installer will work for a plug-in and
if so what are the steps to configure this.
Thanks
Seth

Hi Seth,

You can install a plugin by scheduling a registry (of file) search to retrieve the path where the target application is installed. To do this open Advanced Installer, switch to "Search" page and add "New Search->Add Location->Registry". At the "Key" field browse for the value in the registry that holds the path where the application is installed. If the application does not have registry keys then use file search.

Switch to "Files and Folders" page and add "New Folder->Property Based", choose the property used for the search. Under this "Property Based" folder create the directory where the plugin must be installed (ex: "Plugins").

You can learn more about how to use search feature in AI from following link:

Gigi
