CheckIfUserExists fails if specifying a domain

Hello.

I am having trouble getting the CheckIfUserExists custom action to work.

In this thread someone from the Advanced Installer team provided a project demonstrating the use with just a user, since by default the LoginInformationDialog does not seem to perform the validation before clicking next, I have added the same event handlers as in the project provided there, but I am using the predefined dialog...

This works fine for a user on the local machine, but if i specify a user in a domain (and the domain ofc.) then it still results in an error.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jens,

Can you please specify the error you are getting when using any other domain except localhost?

Re: CheckIfUserExists fails if specifying a domain

Error was the wrong word, sorry about, because the Custom Activity behaves as you would expect it to if the user did not exist.
So if entering a User in a Domain, it always returns No, even if the user exist...

Tested on Windows 7 Enterprise

Hello,

I am not sure why this is happening. Can you please send us the .AIP (project) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it?

All the best,
