Desktop Icon is not updating

Hi

I've created a .msi file that creates a shortcut to a URL on the public desktop. The shortcut had an icon attached. When I change the icon now it is still the same on the client's desktop. When i rename the shortcut in AI the new icon shows up after the installation. When I rename it back it shows the old icon again.

Is that a caching problem? Thanks you!

Indeed, it seems that the OS caches the shortcut information which causes this problem. Please take a look on the "Potential bug with URL shortcuts" thread which debates a similar issue.
