Generated Setup.exe will not install on Windows 98

I wanted to test my program on a Windows 98 computer.

I installed a fresh copy of Windows 98 along with all the critical updates and IE6.

I then tried to open my setup.exe which was generated with AI but I get the message "This file does not have a program associated with it ..."

What do I have to do to allow setups to run on Windows 98?

Windows Installer version 2.0 or higher must be installed on the target computer. I suggest adding it as a Prerequisite.

Hi,

I just yesterday made an installation that just worked fine with a new Windows 98 Second Edition, IE6 and all current patches.

But as Cata said, you should make sure Windows Installer 2.0 is already installed (I used a Microsoft CD for installing the patches which also installed Windows Installer 2.0).
