Avoid — "Another version of this product is installed"

I'm new to this so I'm sure I'm missing something and need some help.

When I try to install a new version of my product (e.g. a simple bug fix, update file version and recompile) I'm getting a dialog that says, "Another version of this product is installed" and the whole product needs to be uninstalled before proceeding. This is a pain in the neck for users. I just want the installer to install the files as directed, and copy over any files that are already there (this is what Inno Setup does). I don't want to create a patch as I only want a single installer for everyone (i.e. I don't want a set-up plus patches). I have ticked the "Automatic upgrade older versions of the same product" and "Uninstall old versions first and then install new version" but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

HELP!!

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve and welcome to our forums.

This may happen if you do not change the Product Version of your package when you create a new version. Can you increase the Product Version, select "Generate New" when prompted and see if it works?
