Apache httpd under vista

Hello!

We used advanced installer since a while for installing a web application + Apache 2.0 web server under windows.
Under XP this all went fine with the "Service Install" command, but since we tried things under vista, it went wrong:
Service doesn't start anymore, with the error it didn't respond correctly to the start service command.

So we ended the installation with a command script to install the service manually with the command:
httpd -k install -n "<Service Name>"

Since it gives sometimes issues with uninstalling, verifying and nonsense-errors with the vista User Account Policy feature, we'd like to do this the official way - with 'service install', so we can let it fail properly in case of User Account Policy still being enabled (I've even red the enterprise edition of advanced installer could temporarily turn this of, true? ).

Is this possible with Advanced Installer with some argument I forgot to supply in the 'install service' menu of advanced installer?
(I tried '-k install' and '-k' as arguments......)

Thanks!

Hi,

Please note that Apache is not ready for Vista, therefore all the Apache users have problems installing it (and running services with it) on Vista .

Can you please send us the AIP you are using to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can give you the appropriate solution?
