File Association problem

Hi:

I cannot get file associations to work with an advertised (JIT) installation. (file type does not show up in list of registered types, file icon does not change, application does not install when file is selected). In examining the MSI file with Orca I find that the CLASSES table has no entries. If my understanding is correct, this table needs to be populated in order for this to work. Am I doing something wrong? I am running version 3.0.1.

Figured it out. I put a dot before the extension on the File Associations page.

Works like a charm now.

Hi,

The "Class" table is not does not have anything to do with the extensions. They are described in the "Extension" and "Verb" tables.

Yes, the extension should be entered with no preceding dots, only the name of the extension.
