Synchronize Folder Tab - Do not save files in project

The "Synchronize Folder Tab - Do not save files in project" is a feature we would like to use to cut down on the number of files/components included in the .aip file. This makes the files easier to review and diff. However when I enabled the feature, I am now unable to add a Service for that component exe file. I assume this is the same for Custom Actions that would use Synchronized component files as well.

How can Services and Custom Actions be added that interact with Synchronized files given the settings below?
- Synchronize Folder for a component
-- Do not save files in project

I have run some tests and you are indeed right.

However, I'm afraid that this is simply a limitation of that said option. As per the documentation:

If this option is enabled, the files contained by the synchronized folder will not be added to the project (e.g. in Files and Folders page) but they will be included in the package at bulid time.

the files are not added to the project and therefore you can not select a file for your service/custom action, because these options require the file to be present in the project.
