Hi Spark,

Please send a screenshot (an Explorer window) describing the files you want to deploy. Please tell me the following:
- the file sizes
- to which installer each files belongs
- what files are placed on each CD and what labels you set for these CDs.

Describe the CD layout as clear as possible, for example:

Code: Select all

Disk File Size
----- ---------- -------
Disk1 setup1.exe 113 KB
Disk1 setup1.msi 245 KB
.....

Please also send the AIP files for your 2 projects.

Hi,

I have 2 cd installer [Compressed cab files]
This is the folder structure:
Disk1
-------
Teach1.cab
Msisetup.msi
Exesetup.exe

Disk2
-------
Teach2.cab

I am using an updater for this installer.
For the updater.exe in custom actions I have given the following option:
Execution Properties
Synchronous execution, ignore return code.

Exectution options
Deferred

Scheduling options
Always execute

When the second CD has finished its installation it raises an error stating 'wrong volume in drive'.

This doesnt occur if I have completely removed the updater from the build.
Is it something related to the updater configuration?
I am I missing anything?

Thanks and regards,

F

Hi,
When the second CD has finished its installation it raises an error stating 'wrong volume in drive'.
You should not use the updater as a custom action. You could use the option "Launch Your Application" after installation from the "Dialogs" page and the first task your application performs would be to check for updates.

To learn more about how to integrate the updater in your application please follow this link: http://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums ... =4071#4071
