Cannot run installer without first installing mergemod.dll ?

I have mergemod.dll on my build machine, but if I don't install it on my target machines also, any msi with merge modules refuses to run and reports that a required dll is missing. Has anyone else seen this ?

Hi,

The MergeMod.dll is a part of Visual Studio and it is used for merging at build time.
Microsoft Platform SDK states: "Mergemod.dll provides a COM object that implements merge operations and source image generation for merge modules".

So you don't need to have it on the target machine when the package is installed.
