Re: remove an App installd with MS-VS08-Setup

Daniel, if you want to help me out here, please write about things which exist, I dont have "Installation Sequence" . I'm still using advanced 9.9.
I can follow you until: Wizard Dialogs Stage -> searches
After that there is no more about what you wrote me. And there is no way to arrive at last that window part "Custom action properties"

There is only one line "Wizard Dialogs Stage" in the whole enviroment, so I gues, it's unpossible that I'm in a wrong part.
How this can be the way to get what you showed me in your example?
To get that I had to choose:
- "add custom action"
- doubleclick on "Launch file or open url" (so got the first "existing custom actions")
- an then , only in that way, I had that Window part "Custom action properties"

I just want explain, as good as it possible what stops me here hardly

Best regards
Eric

Hello Eric,

The related custom action should be added and configured like in the following screenshot:

If you cannot find the "Installation Sequence" pane in "Custom Action" page, then can you please attach a screenshot with your "Custom Action" page?

All the best,
Daniel

Re: remove an App installd with MS-VS08-Setup

Hello Eric,

After you've added your "Launch file or open URL" custom action (like in AdvLaunchFileorUrl.gif) you should select it and drag it (using drag and drop method) under "Wizard Dialogs Stage -> Searches" action group.

Let us know if this helped.

All the best,
Daniel

Re: remove an App installd with MS-VS08-Setup

drag and drop is not possible. So, do we now explain each other what is drag and drop?
I'm sure you talk seriously, - but have no idea how to come out of that

I made a movie, which shows that drag and drop is not possible, but it has of course more than 10 MB.

Re: remove an App installd with MS-VS08-Setup

Hello Eric,

I'm not sure why this happens. This is very strange. Can you use the custom action right-side [ Move ] button to move it under "Wizard Dialogs Stage -> Searches" action group?

Can you please send us the related movie to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can take a look on it? If it has a larger size, then you can use a free service to upload it and send us (e.g. http://free.mailbigfile.com/).

Hi Daniel, maybe possible, but where shall be the "move" button

Perhaps, before we keep going, is this the reason that my app was not remove?

Hello Eric,

Please keep in mind that the related custom action will fail if it is scheduled during "Install Execution Stage", because you cannot install or uninstall another MSI-based package during your current package installation. So, the custom action can be scheduled after "Wizard Dialogs Stage -> Searches" action group.

You can see in the above screenshot where the [Move] button should be:

Re: remove an App installd with MS-VS08-Setup

Hello Eric,

Please keep in mind that in order to see the [Move] button you need to select your custom action in the "Installation Sequence" pane from "Custom Actions" page. After you select your custom action entry in the "Installation Sequence" list you should be able to see the [Move] button in the right-side of your custom action entry.

If you cannot locate the [Move] button for your custom action can you please send us a suggestive screenshot or a recorded video?

All the best,
Daniel
