I have an application developed with VB6 and VC++ and note that one of the boxes i could tick is "Register prerequisite with advanced installer"
There is no guidance, as far as i can see, as to what the advantages or disadvantages are of doing this or not doing this. Can you shed any light on this please?
[edit] I assume that this is so AI knows where to find the exe concerned but surely it must know this already as it specifies the folder to save it in?

Hello,
When this option is enabled the prerequisite package information will be registered on target machine (at install time). So, after your package installation on target machine, if you will install Advanced Installer (or if AI is already installed on target machine) the related prerequisite package will be registered with AI and you will be able to select it from predefined prerequisite list (in the "Registered with Advanced Installer" section).
