if you need to add custom keys then the only solution is to extract the "Info.plist" file from the ZIP archive, modify it with a text editor as necessary and save it as UTF-8.

I understand, I just read your response above as meaning that you were implementing the ability to set custom keys in ...

This feature is scheduled for 4.7 release of Advanced Installer.

Hi,

Just wondering whether this feature has been included in the current version (6.1.1)? I can't find it in any of the documentation, but perhaps I'm not looking in the right place?

(I'm trying to add a <key>WorkingDirectory ...

It's OK - panic over - I closed the project and opened it again. Now it's correct :)

Sorry to waste your time, just on a REALLY tight deadline...!

OK - thanks for that - all makes sense.

We've convinced the client to go with your translations, thankfully!

However, I now have another problem, I've changed nothing in the installer, other than adding a new .ail file in the Dictionaries tab of the Translations section, and then removing the same ...

Japanese Dictionary Files, Characters In Filenames

Hi,

I have created an installer for a Java product, that has some files supplied with it, with Japanese characters in their names.

At first, I found that the Japanese characters were being removed, and replaced with the squares you expect to see when a font doesn't support a character (although ...

Moved .aip file & upgraded to 6.1 - file paths incorrect

Hi,

I'm not sure which activity caused the problem I just experienced, and I think I've fixed it, but thought I'd mention it in case it's something you're not aware of.

I recently upgraded to version 6.1, and, at the same time, I moved my .aip file - effectively up one level in the folder ...

.msi File Icon

Hi,

Just a quick one, I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but is it possible to change the icon for the installer file - the .msi? I know I can change the icon for an .exe, but is just the .msi possible?

I assume not, because that would change the icon for all .msi's on my machine?

Cheers,
David.

Hi,

Thanks for this Cosmin, and sorry to go over old ground - I did try a search, but couldn't find anything relevant.

I did read the 'Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC)' page, but the impression I got (and still get) from that is that AI inserts the manifest file for me, so I can't see what ...

Vista UAC - Execution Levels with Java Application

Hi,

I'm a little confused about an effect I'm seeing with the Vista User Account Control, and am hoping that you can help me. I'm creating an installer for a Java application.

When running the installed application on a Vista machine, with the UAC switched on, I get the following, for running ...

No Deploy Option With Active Directories / Group Policy

Hi,

This is probably not the right place to ask this question, but it seems like it's worth a shot - feel free to ignore me if I'm asking too much.

I'm not a systems admin and I don't have any kind of Windows network to play with, but I'm trying to create an MSI installer, for a Java app, that ...

OK - fair enough. Thanks for the quick response.

I'll split it into three projects, and go with that. I don't suppose you could predict when / if the change is likely to be added? For now I only have 3 products, but this is likely to increase in the near future, so obviously managing different ...

Multiple Products One File Association (Java)

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked often before, I searched, but couldn't find a solution.

My problem is this:

I have three products, A, B, C. Each product is almost identical, but with slight differences. Each has a different main JAR file, and B has some extra files that are bundled with it ...

File Association - Set Working Directory

Hi,

Sorry if this has been discussed, but not sure what to search for.

Basically, my Java application uses the current working directory to locate various resources, that sit in the application folder, alongside the executable.

That's fine when starting the software from a shortcut, but when I'm ...
