Possible bug in Search function

Hi,

I added a search for an executable file with a particular minimum version number using the "Min Version" field.

However, the installer does not seem to find versions of the executable file with a version number equal to the Min Version setting; it only finds executables with a version number ...

Multiple results from search function

Hi,

It seems that the Application Search function will only return one result. Is it possible to use this function to search for multiple file matches? Or will I need to use a Custom Action? If a Custom Action is required, is there an example of VBScript or JavaScript which will achieve this ...

RTF problem

I had this problem also after creating a new RTF in Wordpad and Word. Like you said, after using the EULA file as a template it worked. Strange though.

It worked. Also, there is another, more interesting bug report at the java site on this one with a detailed fix: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bu ... id=4805690

Application icon in taskbar when "stacked" in Wind

Hi,

I like the fact that when I run a Java application with the executable wrapper, there is an icon and an application title in the taskbar for my app rather than the Java icon and a generic title.

However, when there are three or more instances of my application running, and Windows XP stacks ...

That made some difference but it didn't solve the problem completely. It is a relatively low priority for us right now. I may e-mail you the .aip file at some point.

Mihai,

I should have mentioned it is a Java app. I checked the current directory using new File(".").getAbsolutePath()

The current directory when launching the app using the tickbox in the installer is "C:\\."

When you run the app from the start menu shortcut after that, it works fine.

I'm using XP SP2 also. I didn't check which directory it was running from, but it was definitely the wrong one as it broke some code in our app which uses relative paths.

Launching from incorrect directory

Hi,

Correct me if I'm wrong but this problem still appears to be present in 3.4.1 (just updated with the auto updater).

Also, it would be nice if the checkboxes on the final dialog of the installer could be checked/unchecked by clicking on the label (eg "Launch your application") as well as the ...

Ability to use Properties in shortcut name

It would be nice if it were possible to use Properties in the name of a shortcut.

For example, under Edit Shortcut Properties, I would like to be able to specify [ProductName] as the name of the shortcut.

More generally, it would be good if Properties were available in any text box in the program ...

We will implement this feature (that will allow you to pass predefined parameters to the EXE) in a future release.
Has this feature been implemented yet? This would be useful for me too.

Thanks.

Version numbering

Situation:

I am taking over development of a Java application. I would like to use Advanced Installer for this product.

The software version numbering at this company is of the form A.B.X, where A and B are numbers and X is a letter of the alphabet. MSI installers seem to use all numbers. Is this ...
