Re: VB 6 install

Again, thanks Mihai for your helpful response.

Actually I have been using AI since 2009 and I think it is a great product. I just wondered if it could be used for simple bulk copying and registering of support files only.

Hi, this may be a little basic . . . (I am using AI V. 6.7.1)

I have 60 users on a network and we are upgrading all PC's to Windows 7. I want to install some support files on the user's machines (VB6, True DBGrid Pro, CR XI Merge Modules etc). The MS Access databases and VB6 exe files already exist ...

Upgrade support dll's on target PC

Hello,

I used Advanced Installer some time back to build an ISO file to install a VB6 app using Crystal Reports XI R2 on 30 user's machines. CR (SAP) have brought out 2 new service packs which (they say) I need to install on the PC's.

What is the easiest way of doing this? Do I need to rebuild the ...

Re: Problems with defining shortcut

Hi Cosmin,

Do you mean that I should define the name of the variable in uppercase?

i.e. CODADATABASESHORTCUT

Thanks.

Problems with defining shortcut

Hi,

I need to install a shortcut on the user's desktop which is different to the default application install path. I believe the help documentation suggests I create a variable in which I define the literal path (to a network drive). I have tried to do this - as per attached screen shot - but this ...

Re: Invalid keyword-value pairs

Thanks, Ionut, for your prompt response. Yes, it now seems to work well and the DNS is created without error.

Invalid keyword-value pairs

Hello.

I am trying to pass on a system DSN in the MSI file and continually get the following error message when installing on the user's PC.
