MSI stalls while uninstalling a feature
Having a strange problem with a project, whereby our installer (built with AI Ent 18.1.1) is freezing when run on target system to uninstall a single feature during "maintenance".
The last thing seen on screen is the dialog showing status msg "extracting files from archive".

Ah I see ... so when you select this checkbox, it replaces or augments using the processor ID with the MAC address for the purposes of generating the 'request' value that has to be 'countersigned' (in effect) by the license generation process? But I assume then that if you havent selected the option ...

My problem is it's not clear how you even use this feature? How do you specify for a given license what is the valid MAC address?

Hi,
Could you explain how this feature in the licensing tab works?
I had expected it would enable doing a runtime check of the MAC address to what MAC address was in the license file (using customised license) but this doesn't seem to be the case?

Just some further info on this problem. I think it was occurring because in dev environment I had not actually used the setup package to install it. Once I used the installer, it must have reset some things in the registry relating to the trial and it then worked correctly, inc installation of the ...

Not sure about the reboot thing...you said that if the application requires a reboot to complete installation, that AI will handle this and perform the poast snapshot after the reboot. But when we tried this, it doesn't seem to have any idea of a job that is 'in progress'...once you restart AI it ...

OK Thanks for that, we sort of figured that was what you had to do.
We're also looking at using chained packages, as this is actually a more natural fit for our situation anyway, and may save us from having to repackage certain individual items which already have vendor msi's.

We're not quite sure whether what we're trying to do is possible, but basically we want to be able to repackage several apps into the one installer. Also, not every app actually has its own installer anyway...some are just "copy these files to where you want then".
