Install/Uninstall run as Admin on a VM

Hello,

I am experimenting with using AI Updater to auto-update internal applications. On my local machine, the Updater works great. I am having problems updating on a VM of a typical internal end user.

I am using 15.4.1.

I have "Run As Administrator" checked on Install Parameters for the MSI.

I ...

auto updater run as specific user

Hello,

Is it possible to have auto-updater run as a specific user? Almost all of the users are not local admin's or use VMs for their work. We currently distribute installers on SCCM and users pull down updates rather than updates pushed out. This leads to users being outdated without realizing it ...

I'd like to make an installer like the Advanced Installer setup with a prompt to upgrade or install side by side. I've tried the multiple instances and it's not quite working out the way I thought it would and am hoping this would meet what I'm looking for.

Any tips or suggestions how to ...

Multiple instances question

Hello,

I recently downgraded from AI 14.1 to AI 13.0 to a project involving multiple instance installs via command line. It's working great.

The application is being distributed by SCCM and users may or may not have my app installed. I was going to have two options - new instance install or ...

Re: Multiple instances and desktop shortcuts

Hi Dan,

It's been a while, but I've finally returned to this.

Your code sample works great! It gets me 99% of the way there.

How would I register the shortcut for uninstall/upgrade?

Multiple instances and desktop shortcuts

Hello,

Anyone have tips how to handle multiple instances and desktop shortcuts to those multiple instances? I have a single desktop icon as if I were setting up a single instance application. That single desktop icon is updated to the most current instance installed. That makes sense. I don't know ...

Hello,

I have been using AI Pro for a while and am evaluating AI Enterprise.

I have a dialogue box for a user like QA to select the environment they want to test my code. I am having difficulty figuring out how to either update values in my .config file or swap out my app.config with a config for ...
