Re: Optional IIS Confiuguration at Install Time

Can you briefly outline what you mean by that? Just enough to get me started looking in the right places.

Optional IIS Confiuguration at Install Time

Is there any to make the IIS configuration optional at install time?

It's not possible to add the IIS configuration to a Feature on the Organization page.

I tried and no matter what Features are chosen at install the IIS configuration is always executed.

Automating creation of updates text file.

Now I've been struggling with this.

At the moment I'm automatically building a new installer whenever I build using the "release" configuration in Visual Studio.

The VS project build file gets the current SVN version from the root working folder and changes the file version on the executable.

It ...

I had the same thing recently although the folder was not synchronised.

Brian you are an absolute star, thank you. I've got this working for my installer and .Net 1.1.

The mscoree.dll thing was being ignored for me as well. Not sure why as I didn't even have an mscoree.dll!

With 1.1 I had to set the minimum version to "3706-4322" and the launch condition I changed to ...

Changing Upgrade Code

Is there any way to generate a new GUID for the upgrade code. I've got four installers that are similar so I've copied and pasted the aip file and am of course running into problems now.

Can this be done manually by generating a GUID in someway and pasting it into the aip/xml?
