Shortcut not working that Checks for Updates then opens App

Following the instructions here:
https://www.advancedinstaller.com/user- ... ation.html
I tested
/silent -startappfirst -restartapp <application_executable_path> -restartappcmd <application_command_line_params>
and it did not work for me
I have tried simplifiying and just using these arguments:

/checknow -restartapp [#App.exe]

I placed the shortcut into the desktop folder
and try to launch from desktop with no response from the click.

Re: Shortcut not working that Checks for Updates then opens App

Hi,

This may happen if your application install path includes empty space(s) in the file path and you do not enclose between quotes the <application_executable_path> respectively the [#App.exe] parameter.

Could you please edit your shortcut arguments to the following format:

Code: Select all

/checknow -restartapp "[#App.exe]"
and then rebuild and test again the scenario?

All the best,
Daniel
