BitDefender causes installer to show "No internet connection" messagebox and abort install, but internet is available.

Odd one that has started showing up for us. Some of our customers use BitDefender and now we consistently get the no internet message. Is there anything that can be done to resolve this?

Thanks

As a follow up I found that older versions of our product installer built with older advanced installer versions DO NOT have this issue. This is an advanced installer bug.

Hello,

This is indeed strange.
and now we consistently get the no internet message
I am assuming that the message box that you are mentioning is the one from the "Run only if an active Internet connection is found" launch condition, right?

Additionally, were you able to replicate this issue on your end? I have tried to test this, but I was not able to replicate the issue. Here is how I tested this:

- on a clean Windows 10 virtual machine, I have installed BitDefender Total Security 2020

- created an Advanced Installer project with the "Run only if an active Internet connection is found" option checked in the "Launch Conditions" page --> "System" tab

- built & ran the project

Upon doing so, no messagebox was spawned, since I was connected to the internet. Do your users have an active internet connection?

If you can replicate this on your end, could you please forward me a sample project (does not have to contain any file) which replicates this issue and which I can build an run a few tests with it on my end? You can either attach the project here or send it via e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
