copy protection problem.

Hi all,

I have developed a cd project and send the original cd to mastering company which will add copy protection functionality to cds.
The company returned me an error message as follows.
"ERROR on CDM19377

1. The "setup.exe" is not working with copy protection, because it scanning self on the full length of file size.
"

setup.exe is the file which were generated by Advanced Installer. The cd also has 1 msi file and 4 cab files including the other files.

Hi,

Can you please give more details about this error?
Note that the EXE will not work properly if it is modified after it's generated by Advanced Installer.

Hi Cosmin,

The mastering company adds copy protection to cd by changing the file size info in the file. For example, they change the file size from 2MB to 2GB let's say.

After your message I realized the problem, so that is there any alternative solution that you could advice to me for copy protection issues.

I'm afraid that this cannot be done with Advanced Installer because there is no workaround that we know about. Also, I'm not sure if you can use an alternative copy protection mechanism.
