Features icons problems on Windows 7

The test installer was compiled under Windows 11, then I decided to test it under Windows 7, everything is fine there except for the component icons when using Enhanced interface, also on Windows 10 there is no such problem.

Hello,

I've tested your scenario, but I cannot reproduce the behavior.

Can you please send us the .AIP (setup project) file by email to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can further test and investigate this?

If you cannot share with us your project file, could you please create a sample project that reproduces this? You can attach the sample either here or you can send it by e-mail.

Best regards,
Liviu

Re: Features icons problems on Windows 7

It seems that I found a problem, if I connect to the computer via remote desktop (mstsc.exe), then for some reason the transparency does not work in the specified icons, if i connected to the computer through another remote access application, the problem with the icons is gone, apparently via RDP there are problems displaying some icons in installers made in Advanced Installer.
I found a solution to the problem, in RDP you need to change the quality from 24bit to 32, I thought that 24bit was more than enough to display transparent icons, because other icons on the desktop with transparency at 24bit are displayed without problems.
Or maybe it's just a bug in Advanced Installer that can be fixed?.

Re: Features icons problems on Windows 7

Hello,

Thank you for your follow-up on this.

All our icons follow Windows standard guidelines.

I'm afraid there is nothing we can do to control this behavior if the problem is reproduced only via RDP with 24bit on Windows 7 OS. The SelectionTree control is displayed by Windows Installer.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
Liviu
