Hello,

I'm not quite sure I fully understand your question here.

If possible, could you please give me some more details about what exactly you're trying to achieve?

Best regards,

Re: Format specification of AIP

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply basically some documentation regarding the format of the aip files.
We are currently having some trouble figuring out what changes are impacting the files and in what way.
As an example we recently needed to add the option to always overwrite on reinstallation which it turns out sets

Code: Select all

DirectoryOptions="3"
on the folder in question.

However I've yet to find a place where this is defined, what is for example

Code: Select all

DirectoryOptions=4
So basically what I am asking for is technical documentation of the file format something similar to https://docs.firegiant.com/wix3/xsd/

Re: Format specification of AIP

Hello,

In what regards our AIP XML content design, I am afraid there is no documentation on this. Our XML design is quite complex and it will be a really difficult task to make it user friendly.

Modifying XML outside of Advanced Installer tool is not recommended as your project may become corrupted and unrecoverable.

An AIP file may be a valid XML file, but this does not mean that it cannot be a corrupt project. An .AIP project file can be corrupt even if its XML content is valid.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Liviu
