making a feature totally disable during installation

Hi ,
In a install program say i have 3 features and in one of that feature say "sample1" i have a component that have to be installed from the web. Do i have that facility in Advanced installer without using prerequisites and also i also would like to know can i make a feature totally disable during installation that is if the feature install level is 4 i know that it won't be installed but while in the installation in custom mode you can always change the status (i mean you can make it get installed ) I want to know whether you can make it appear on the screen and make it disabled for the customers
Please provide an procedure do the above two things .
