doing something BEFORE the Installation

Hi,

is it possible with this installer to add a .exe-file or a DLL that would be executed before the real installation process starts and would it then be possible to not continue the installation depending on a return value of this action in any way?

I want to add a custom versioncheck that would do a socket request to an own server (with an own protocol) and depending on that maybe stop the installation or at least give the user a prompt

Hi,

It is possible to add such a custom action, but this is possible only in the "Install" sequence (i.e. after the Install button has been pressed).

I'm afraid that, for the moment, Advanced Installer does not allow for a custom action to be performed before the UI sequence.
