Problems with updater.exe

Hello,

I use Advanced Installer 3.4.1.
I have a problem with the updater feature. I set it up for one of my setups. Building the Installer works fine, also the setup of the program.
My problem is during the uninstall of this program. In the application section of the eventlog are errors with the following content:

Product: RZ-Software Sysinternals -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action AI_UPDATER_UNINSTALL, location: C:\Programme\RZ-Software\Sysinternals\updater.exe, command: /m clean silent

Do you have any ideas to this problem? Is this an error in my setup or perhaps an error in Advanced Installer. How can I uninstall this product now?

Regards,
Mirko Koch

PS: Sorry for that English, my German is much better ;-)

Hello ciprian,

mail will follow in 10 minutes.
The setup is build with Windows XP with SP2 and the problem is also under Windows XP with SP2.
With other OS-Versions (Windows 2000 with SP4) I haven't testet it yet.

Thanks for the uninstall-method. I'll try it tomorrow.

Bye,
Mirko

Hi,

It seems that you have entered an URL to a MSI file instead of to an INI file in the Updates URL field (the Updater page of Advanced Installer).

For more details on using the Updater feature please see the tutorial:
